Augmented reality overlays computer-generated digital information, such as 3D CAD models onto the real world that surrounds us, in real-time. In short, it blends the physical and digital realms. Advantages of overlaying any digital model onto real surroundings includes better immersive learning and training, improved product visualization and design collaboration.

To help promote this technology, CAD/CAM software developer Schott Systeme GmbH is providing a link to an animated 3D CAD model generated in their Pictures by PC CAD software.

By opening the QR-Code listed below, the model and animation can be viewed in a set environment on any smart phone. A ‘Mixed Reality’, whereby the model is presented in the current surroundings, is possible on phones that support this Augmented mixed reality. The animation can be started using the start button.
